Additional nutrients that may be helpful include: N-Acetyl Cysteine NAC (2 gms per day), One-A-Day Garlic (1-3 tabs/day), Selenium (100-200 mcg elemental selenium as selenomethionine per day), Acetyl L-Carnitine (1-2 gm per day), Complete E (2-4 gel caps daily), and Pantethine Plus (2-6 tablets per day).

The general treatment is to change the diet to one low in simple carbohydrates and high in vegetables, fruit, and fiber, to take supplements which help to rebuild the immune response and strengthen the body, to detoxify the body as much as possible, and to make certain lifestyle changes concerning exercise, stress, relaxation, etc. The above supplement schedule provides an excellent starting point and the following paragraph makes some other suggestions that may be helpful to you. These suggestions do not necessarily represent a comprehensive program for regaining your health.

Please eat a diet includes organic poultry and toxin-free fish – wild salmon, mackeral, trout, sardines, and bluefish in the amount of a 5 to 8 ounces per day and high in fiber containing foods such as vegetables, low glycemic fruits (such as berries), a moderate amount of whole grains (e.g., brown rice, millet,  oatmeal, quinoa, and wild rice), beans, nuts and seeds (chia, sunflower, flax, pumpkin, and sesame in small amounts -- 1 or 2 ounces -- are good).  You may wish to take a fiber supplement, such as chia seeds or psyllium husks, of 5 gms or more per day.  Increase your potassium intake by eating Hank's Vegetable Soup several times a week and/or by drinking vegetable juices such as carrot or carrot with celery, beet, parsley, cucumber, tomato, caggage, \etc. (16-32 oz per day).  Raw onions and garlic should be taken liberally.  Try eating Hank's Pesto Sauce over your foods.   Avoid all sweets (sugar), processed/refined foods (white bread, rice, and pasta), preservatives, and artificial flavors and colors.  Reduce your intake of salt. Try not to eat the same thing every day.  Symptoms can be exacerbated by allergic reactions to the food you eat. Be observant to correlations between symptoms and the foods you have eaten.

Please get 30 minutes of exercise appropriate for you (walking, swimming, and yoga are usually good) at least 3 times a week.  Make sure that you relax sufficiently.  Stress reduction methods such as biofeedback, deep breathing exercises, or meditation can be very helpful.  If you are overweight, lose weight by careful eating (do not starve yourself nutritionally) and appropriate exercise.  Do not smoke or allow yourself to be exposed to second hand smoke as this will cause blood vessel constriction and make the problem worse.  Take baths daily with Ancient Minerals Magnesium Flakes (2-3 cups) or Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil (4-8 oz) and baking soda (1-2 cups).
