CLA 1,000
Conjugated Linoleic

![]() |
CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACID (CLA) is a naturally-occurring derivative of linoleic acid. It is a fatty acid that has been shown to reduce body fat and promote muscle tone in laboratory and clinical studies. CLA offers many other benefits, including metabolic balancing, cholesterol reduction, and antioxidant effects in the body.
CLA is traditionally found in dairy products from grass-fed cows and in free-range beef and poultry. Grass-fed cows convert fatty acids from grasses into CLA, but, for example, corn-fed cows are notably deficient in CLA. Meat or dairy products from such deficient cows is therefore low in CLA.
In addition, modern agricultural practices, depleted soils, and the processing and refining of foods mean that we now consume far less CLA than previous generations. Because of the amazing, proven health benefits of CLA, vegetable-source supplements of CLA now are a most favorable option for obtaining adequate amounts for health and healing (see more below). So, for humans, CLA can be readily obtained by ingesting plant-based foods and food extracts containing high levels of CLA.
• INCREASES LEAN MUSCLE MASS
• REDUCES BODY FAT
• LOWERS CHOLESTEROL
• VEGETARIAN SOURCE!
CLA 1,000 is produced from natural safflower oil using a gentle patented processs. Now you readily can obtain optimal levels of CLA—and all of the health benefits—from a nutritional supplement!
CLA 1,000 contains 1,000 mg of a gently-processed safflower oil that has a CLA content of 77% (minimum). It is produced without the use of toxic chemicals (such as hexane) from pesticide-free and herbicide-free safflower oil. The ratio of CLA to total linoleic acid is greater than 98%. The 9-cis, 11-trans and 10-trans, 12-cis isomers (the most biologically active forms) are in a 50:50 ratio and account for approximately 97% of the total CLA. CLA is generally regarded as safe (GRAS) and has been shown to increase lean muscle mass and reduce the amount of body fat mass.
CLA 1,000 Offers Major Benefits As Reported By Users and Clinical Studies:
- IMPROVES MUSCLE TONE. Users and Studies alike Report Improvements in Muscle Tone and Anti-Catabolic Effects (read more below...).
- INCREASES LEAN MUSCLE MASS. Enables You To Increase As Well As Maintain Your Lean Muscle Mass And Be More Fit.
- HELPS WITH WEIGHT LOSS AND REDUCES BODY FAT. Ten Percent (10%) or Greater Reduction of Body Mass Has Been Reported. CLA Is Known To Change The Way Fat Is Metabolized By The Body So That Fat Is Reduced (And Lean Muscle Mass Is Increased).
- BOOSTS METABOLISM. Improved Metabolic Functioning For Greater Health. Also Shown To Be A Useful Adjunct In Protocols For Diabetes.
- LOWERS CHOLESTEROL. Another Beneficial Effect Proven By Clinical Studies!
- POTENT ANTIOXIDANT. CLA Exerts Powerful Antioxidant Properties Due To Its Ability To Reduce Oxidation In The Body.
HPDI CLA 1,000 Also Features:
• Inhibition of lipoprotein lipase, an enzyme that breaks down fat globules in the blood so that adipocyte (fat cell) uptake (or body fat accumulation) can occur. The inhibition of lipoprotein lipase results in reduced fat deposition.
• Increases hormone sensitive lipase activity. Lipase is an enzyme responsible for breaking down fats stored in fat cells in the body. The fatty acids are returned to the bloodstream to be used as an energy source for muscle cells. CLA directs the body to use fat reserves for energy.
• Exerts powerful antioxidant properties in the body. The antioxidants in CLA offer protectin against free-radical attack and thereby help retard the aging process and allay the effects of chronic and degenerative conditions. It also has been suggested that adding CLA to foods may prevent oxidation and mold growth in the food products.
• The anti-catabolic effects of CLA have also attracted the interest of bodybuilders, weightlifters, and endurance athletes whose intense workouts can benefit from CLA supplements. CLA's anti-catabolic effects include preventing the loss of protein, enabling the growth and preservation of lean muscle mass.
HPDI CLA 1,000 Background
Conjugated Linoleic Acid was discovered by Dr. Michael Pariza and Dr. Mark Cook at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. It has been studied as an anti-carcinogen as well as a catalyst in the retention of lean muscle tone, body fat reduction, and energy metabolism.
According to Dr. Pariza and Dr. Cook, CLA actually is a previously unrecognized nutrient that most individuals do not obtain in sufficient quantities anymore and this may be the reason why many people have greater percentages of fatty tissue now than ever before. Grass used to be the primary food source for cows and other grazing ruminants. Grass is rich in linoleic acid. An enzyme in the animals’ digestive systems converts linoleic acid to conjugated linoleic acid.
Meats and dairy foods used to be the best source for CLA. However, due to changes in the way these animals are raised (they are rarely pasture grazed as they were in the past) and the reduced consumption of red meat and dairy products, the levels of CLA in our diets have been dramatically reduced.
According to a recent scientific paper, CLA inhibits the body's mechanism for storing fat and causes the body to utilize fatty reserves for energy.

NUTRITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS AND APPLICATIONS
LINOLEIC ACID is an essential fatty acid that contains 2 double bonds (normally in the 6 and 9 position) in an 18-carbon chain structure. CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACID (CLA) is a naturally occurring positional and geometric isomer of linoleic acid with double bonds in positions 9 and 11 or 10 and 12.
CLA is found in relatively large quantities in the milk and/or meat of animals (e.g., beef and poultry) that are range-fed (i.e., on natural grasses and greens). CLA appears to be metabolized in the body differently than linoleic acid.
This amazing substance has been the subject of extensive animal research for more than 15 years. This research shows that CLA: 1) is a potent inhibitor of breast, prostate, lung, and colon carcinogenesis, 2) is an immune system enhancer, 3) is a powerful antioxidant, 4) has anti-atherosclerotic properties, including decreasing LDL cholesterol, 5) substantially increases Vitamin A in the liver, 6) prevents the development of diabetes, and 7) alters the way that the body metabolizes fat so that body fat is significantly decreased while muscle mass is increased.
An interesting aspect of this research is that these effects are achieved at levels of about 1% of caloric intake (equivalent to about 2-3 grams daily of CLA for humans). Studies have shown no negative effects of taking CLA at these levels for extended periods.
CLA 1,000 has been carefully designed to leverage the therapeutic effects of CLA for your benefit.
