NAC contains 500 mg of the highest-quality USP grade N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine in a preservative-free gelatin capsule.

NUTRITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS AND APPLICATIONS

NAC is a powerful free radical scavenger. The majority of orally ingested NAC rapidly undergoes deacetylation to form L-Cysteine. L-Cysteine is necessary for glutathione production. NAC's role in glutathione production has powerful implications for improving immune function, increasing the body's free radical trapping capacity, and for the therapeutic use of NAC in diseases such as AIDS and cancer. NAC’s effectiveness in patients with acetaminophen overdose is well-documented. In addition, NAC has been used with good results in treating respiratory diseases. NAC has well-known mucolytic properties and has been shown to increase mucociliary transport in smokers.
