PS-100 PLUS™ contains 100 mg phosphatidylserine, 45 mg phosphatidylcholine, 25 mg phosphatidylethanolamine, and 5 mg phosphatidylinositol in a softgel capsule. These phosphatides are made from soybean lecithin, so PS-100 Plus™ includes some soybean oil, as well as gelatin (capsule) and glycerine (capsule).

NUTRITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS & APPLICATIONS: Phosphatides are lipid substances that make up the protective membrane covering every cell (and organelle within the cell) in the body. They consist of triglyceride molecules in which one of the fatty acids is removed and replaced with a phosphorylated choline, ethanolamine, inositol, or serine molecule. Phosphatides control which substances are allowed into cells, help with the oxygenation of cells, and provide important substrates used by the cells to make prostaglandins. The body manufactures its own phosphatides from nutrients provided by the diet. Yet the body may not make sufficient phosphatides for good health when the diet is deficient in essential fatty acids, choline, inositol, ethanolamine, serine, folic acid, Vitamin B12, or other important cofactors. Phosphatidylserine is especially important for brain function and is used for enhancing memory and cognitive skills. Human and animal studies show that using supplements to raise levels of phosphatidylserine in the body boosts brain power, mood, learning ability, and stress tolerance. Phosphatidylserine has been used in a broad range of applications, including: 1) Stress conditions, 2) Seasonal affective disorder (SAD), 3) Parkinson’s disease, 4) Alzheimer’s disease, 5) Exercise recovery, 6) Alcoholism, 7) Immune stimulation, 8) Memory loss, and 9) “Age-proofing” the brain.
