PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: PROBOOST™ THYMIC PROTEIN A is a nutritional supplement designed to replace missing thymus protein. The main ingredient is a single natural thymus protein developed from live cells in a laboratory by Dr. Terry Beardsley, an immunologist, who has received an U.S. Patent for discovery and isolation of this protein. The isolated and purified protein is derived from bovine thymus cells. Thymic Protein A is packaged in single dose packets containing 12 trillion biologically active freeze-dried molecules of protein in a base of maltodextrin.

NUTRITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS & APPLICATIONS: Thymic Protein A has been scientifically proven to stimulate human T-4 helper white blood cells to perform their specialized job in the human body, to locate invaders such as viruses, bacteria, or abnormal cells, and send out T-8 killer white blood cells to find the invaders and destroy them. Scientists agree that abnormal cells, such as cancer or tumor cells, develop in the body every day. However, those individuals who have a strong immune response termed "cell-mediated immunity" destroy abnormal cells effectively. This cell-mediated immune system is composed of white blood cells called T-lymphocytes (T-cells) that are programmed by proteins from the thymus gland, a small gland slightly beneath the breast bone. It is also well established that people who live longer than average have stronger immune systems and superior cell-mediated immunity. The active ingredient in Thymic Protein A is the precise thymus protein which is the key to the cell-mediated immune system, and which programs the T-4 lymphocyte (T-4 helper cell). The T-4 cell's job is to locate foreign (abnormal) cells of any kind, such as tumor cells, viruses, bacteria, and parasites, and then direct the T-8 lymphocytes (T-8 killer cells) to locate and destroy the foreign invader. Without this specific thymus protein, the T-4 cells cannot do their job properly, and over time a breakdown of the cell-mediated immune system develops, allowing the many types of invaders to grow and flourish. It is well known that the thymus gland declines with age and in many individuals is barely functioning by age 40. Therefore, the essential thymus-provided protein is no longer available to "program" the T-4 cells. Since T-4 cells have a lifetime of many years, an individual with a non-functioning thymus will still have a reasonable level of cell-mediated immunity for several decades after the thymus function ceases. However, even healthy individuals have a gradual loss of T-4 function and existing T-4 cells become "unprogrammed," reducing their effectiveness. The active ingredient in Thymic Protein A is an intact native protein that has the same biological activity as the protein from the human thymus. No other thymus extract or product is comparable to this unique protein. The Division of AIDS of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) tested the protein in Thymic Protein A and concluded that it is an immune stimulant, and that this protein suppressed HIV and live HIV-infected blood cells.

DIRECTIONS: It is important to empty the packet under the tongue and hold the contents there until it is absorbed into the body sublingually because stomach acids and digestive enzymes will break the protein down and make it far less effective. Anyone who is immune-suppressed can benefit from 1-3 daily doses, as often as every 4 hours. People who have had chemotherapy, radiation, interferon, or other immune-suppressing treatments may benefit, since some existing white blood cells are inactivated by these treatments. It is suggested that those with HCV/HBV/HIV take 3 doses per day until blood tests have been normal for 3-6 months and then take 1 dose per day for maintaining a healthy immune system. Even healthy individuals who notice that they are losing some immune function may benefit from 1 packet per day. The need for and use of Thymic Protein A also may be determined in consultation with a health care practitioner.
