Green Vibrance achieves these goals by addressing some very basic but essential nutritional requirements. Before optimal health can be achieved, the immune system must be strong, a non-toxic gastrointestinal tract must be operating efficiently, the body must take in adequate, complete and healthful nutrients, and those nutrients must be delivered to the cells of the body, even those at the periphery of the capillaries' reach.

In order to bring true value to the consumer and the marketplace, a nutritional formula should have a well defined purpose in building health. Its nutritive components should have value and be present at potencies that will achieve the stated goal. Green Vibrance is designed as a concentrated, nutrient-dense food from vegetable sources that is meant to:

1.) rehabilitate the digestive tract, thereby improving nutrient absorption

2.) deliver a host of trace nutrients that may very easily be absent or undersupplied in modern diets

3.) improve circulation in order to deliver those nutrients to every cell of the body

4.) support a vigorous and efficient immune system to protect the body from invaders

Nutrient Density

The ingredients in Green Vibrance were selected to support and improve these basic four essential bodily functions without which life cannot be sustained. Cereal grass juices alone deliver virtually all known nutrients and several uncharacterized factors of great benefit. For example, cereal grasses are known for a hidden "growth factor" that causes young animals to grow larger, stronger, and more resistant to disease, and which causes mature animals (and undoubtedly humans) to repair and replenish bodily tissues more quickly. Alfalfa sprouts, broccoli sprouts, spirulina, chlorella, stabilized rice bran, and Hydrilla verticillata enrich the nutrient density and diversity of the primary food ingredients in Green Vibrance.

The Probiotics

Our industry leading, strong dose of 15 billion (18 billion on date of manufacture) friendly intestinal bacteria (probiotics) in Green Vibrance improves the system that must function well first and foremost if health is to be maintained or restored. One must be able to digest food and transport nutrients into the body from the gastrointestinal tract before life and health can be sustained. The probiotics help assure a healthy G.I. tract by building and maintaining colonies of robust intestinal flora. The strains in Green Vibrance help break down proteins for easy assimilation, help transport minerals and B-vitamins across the intestinal mucosa, synthesize several B-vitamins themselves, create an unfriendly (acidic) environment for pathogenic bacteria and yeast (candida), and thereby reduce the level of disease-causing bacteria and shrink yeast colonies in the gut. Their action is supported by both NutraFlora® fructo-oligosaccharides and Larex Inc.'s ClearTrac™ arabinogalactan. Each of these prebiotics reduces the number of pathogenic bacteria and their colonies in the gut while boosting the number and colonies of beneficial bacteria.

Supporting Cast

Chlorophyll from the green foods in Green Vibrance further support the action of the probiotics, killing pathogens and healing intestinal lesions. Apple pectin plus lecithin help remove heavy metals, cholesterol and toxins from the intestinal tract before they can be absorbed. To a lesser but still significant degree, they can perform similar tasks in the circulating blood itself.

Nutrients in their natural state are highly bioavailable. So not only does Green Vibrance support excellent digestive health, but it also rapidly delivers a multitude of trace nutrients that can be used by each cell in the body to maintain health or correct flawed or blocked cellular metabolism.

Ingredient Briefs

Lecithin: Provides precursors to essential brain neurotransmitters. As little as 35 mg a day of phosphatidylcholine was shown by brain researcher Dr. Richard Wurtman to enhance mental acuity, for example. Two grams of lecithin in Green Vibrance will supply more than 400 mg. phosphatidylcholine, 290 mg. phosphatidylethanolamine, and 240 mg. phosphatidylinositol. Lecithin is also renowned as a nutrient to lower blood fats and serum cholesterol, while supporting the integrity of the myelin sheath that insulates nerve fibers.

Apple Pectin: Binds cholesterol and heavy metals in the gut, preventing their absorption and helps clear waste from the intestinal tract. Pectins also enter the blood stream to bind heavy metals there for elimination through the kidneys.

NutraFlora® Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS): NutraFlora® FOS has been noted in the scientific literature as a marvelous food for friendly intestinal bacteria and as a suppresser of pathogenic bacteria and candida albicans. They are virtually indigestible in humans, and therefore, do not affect blood sugar levels, but instead provide valuable food for the good bacteria. FOS are widely distributed in vegetables such as Jerusalem artichokes, asparagus, soy beans and others. The 500 mg. of FOS in each serving of Green Vibrance adds a strong synergist for the implantation and growth of each serving's 15 billion friendly bacteria.

We chose NutraFlora® because it is simply the purest FOS (4% or less simple sugars) with the most clinical studies behind it. While some other FOS materials of far lower cost could have saved us some expense, their higher content of simple sugars might provide food for candida and intestinal pathogens. We did not want to take that risk.

Probiotics (9 strains): The probiotics in Green Vibrance are the single most expensive ingredient in the formula. This fact demonstrates a very important point about the way Vibrant Health and HPD approach the marketplace. We continually strive to do what is best for the consumer.

As DNA fingerprinting has come of age, probiotic manufacturers have been able to accurately identify the genetic differences between species of probiotics, and have been able to now identify many new strains within those species. As a consequence, we have chosen some very specific strains for Green Vibrance, based on the verified attributes of them.

For example, we formerly used L. bulgaricus because it has long been known as a strong anti-biotic producing organism that inhibited the growth of pathogenic bacteria in the gut. BUT bulgaricus is a transient microbe, meaning it will not implant in the intestinal tract. Newer research shows that other strains of both L. rhamnosus and L. acidophillus, species that will colonize the G.I tract, are even more effective at inhibiting pathogens. The four strains we have chosen of these two species were selected not only for their pathogen-inhibiting effect, but also because they boost production of immune-enhancing immunoglobulins.

The acicophilus strains included in Green Vibrance have further demonstrated ability to lower cholesterol, and the rhamnosus strains suppress inflammatory and tumorogenic biochemicals. We have increased the presence of three bifido bacteria: lactis, bifidum and longum. They inhibit Helicobacter pylori, the bacteria that causes ulcers, produce anticarcinogenic substances and are particularly effective at protecting against cancer of the colon. Bifidum is a strong inhibitor of E. coli in the large intestine and longum boosts a number of immunoglobulins and has other immune support functions.

L. paracasei is an additional immune enhancer while assisting lactis in setting up conditions in the colon to prevent diarrhea. In other words, it breaks down lactose and they kill off pathogens.

The ninth probiotic, L. helveticus, is renowned for its ability to break down protein, thereby greatly aiding digestion. It is also known to generate peptides (bio-active proteins) that can lower blood pressure or help maintain normal blood pressure. So there is a cardiovascular benefit to L. helveticus.

Naturally, the probiotics in Green Vibrance do all the expected things that probiotics are supposed to do: protect against digestive diseases, break down proteins fats and carbohydrates (e.g. lactose), generate B-vitamins, crowd out candida and create an inhospitable atmosphere for disease-causing organisms &endash; or kill them outright. But the potencies, strains selected, and full disclosure labeling of probiotics in Green Vibrance are unique in our industry.

Larex ClearTrac' arabinogalactan: This form of arabinogalactan from larch trees is primarily a significant new pre-biotic and, to a lesser degree, a valuable immune enhancer. Human studies have demonstrated its ability to increase the population of anaerobic bacteria in the colon by anywhere from 40% to 1000% depending on lifestyle factors. Increased anaerobes in the colon are beneficial because additional fermentation lowers colon pH and increases the production of short chain fatty acids (butyric and propionic.) Lower pH is known to protect against colon cancer and disorders of the bowel. Short chain fatty acids nourish colonocytes and are the major food source for hepatocytes in the liver.

Clear Trac' also increases populations of Lactobacilli and Bifidobacteria by 47% to 300% elsewhere in the gut. At the same time, pathogenic bacteria are reduced by 155 to 18.5%.

These strong pre-biotic effects are synergistic with the FOS in Green Vibrance and further support its heavy dose of probiotic bacteria. Addition of ClearTrac' to Green Vibrance demonstrates our commitment to the health of the consumer. This is especially true in light of the secondary application of ClearTrac' as an immune enhancer. It can stimulate natural killer cell cytotoxicity, inhibit metastases to the liver and generally help build a more responsive immune system.

Larex ImmunEnhancer™ AG AND Beta 1,3, glucans: ImmunEnhancer' arabinogalactan extract differs slightly in molecular weight, polydispersity and polyphenol content from its sister product ClearTrac' with the net effect that ImmunEnhancer' is 50% to 100% more effective as an immune boosting material depending on which aspect of the immune response is measured. For example, at equal dosages, immune cell proliferation caused by ImmunEnhancer' was twice that of ClearTrac' and white blood cell and monocyte counts were increased by 50%.

ImmunEnhancer' arabinogalactans from larch are effective at stimulating macrophages and natural killer cell activity while also increasing the number of NK cells. Most notably, larch arabinogalactans evidenced no decline in performance as dosages increase. Arabinogalactans also increase the release of interferon-gamma, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and interleukin-1 beta. Beta glucans have similar effects at dosages lower than 25 mg.

Stabilized Rice Bran: Stabilized Rice Bran is about 30% dietary fiber (both soluble and insoluble) and only about 8% sugars, 14% protein and 20% rice bran oil. An important fact is that the material is stabilized. What does that mean? It means the rice bran has been stabilized to prevent rancidity by inactivating its natural lipase enzymes. Lipase enzymes in rice bran can render the material unfit for human consumption within 12 hours of milling and unfit for even animal consumption within 48 hours. Stabilized Rice Bran contains significant amounts of carotenoids, tocopherols and tocotrienols, phytosterols, B-vitamins, and some very important minerals.

Nova Scotia Dulse: Dulse is a relatively weak commercial source of natural iodine, the trace nutrient required for efficient thyroid function. But dulse is a wonderful source of trace minerals from the sea that match the proper trace mineral balance in the human body. The 33 milligrams of Dulse in each serving of Green Vibrance was chosen to support correct trace mineral ratios in the human body while also meeting the full daily requirement of iodine. Iodine is commonly found in soils along ocean coastlines and in all seafood. Diets of persons living inland have historically carried the risk of iodine deficiency unless iodized salt was used or unless transported seafood were readily available. Low iodine can compromise the ability of the thyroid gland to synthesize adequate thyroid hormones which are known to regulate metabolism. Decreased production of those hormones can result in a slowed metabolism that may manifest itself as lethargy, suppressed immune function, mental confusion, and unwanted weight gain through retention of stored body fat. Correct iodine nutrition helps assure a balanced output of thyroid hormones and efficient metabolism.

Wheat sprout powder: These special, hydroponically grown wheat sprouts have a significant ability to boost your body's own natural production of the cellular antioxidant, SOD (superoxide dismutase).

Spirulina powder: Green Vibrance incorporates organic spirulina from Earthrise Farms, grown here in the U.S. It is a 60% protein food with known immune enhancing ability, partly due to its content of calcium spirulan. Calcium spirulan is one of the components in spirulina known to boost immunity. Others include the rich, blue pigment, phycocyanin. This polypeptide (protein) stimulates stem cells in bone marrow to produce both red and white blood cells. It is so effective that stem cells damaged by radiation or toxic chemicals can even be made to respond and build healthier blood.

Continuing research on spirulina tells us that this ancient food is a potent anti-viral, and both a chemopreventive and tumor suppressant. This latter effect seems related to the polysaccharide content of spirulina, whereby the polysaccharides stimulate enzymes within cells that correct damage to DNA. Spirulina's anticancer effects are further supported by its rich content of carotenoids.

Spirulina also helps lower serum cholesterol, and serves as a prebiotic, feeding both lacto and bifido bacteria. It is anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and helps the detoxification process while its highly bioavailable iron content protects against anemia. In short, spirulina is a nutrient dense, superior food that helps keep virtually every bodily system functioning properly.

Acerola berry juice powder: A rich source of natural highly bioavailable vitamin C with a pleasant, fruity taste. This material is available at potencies of 15-17% C and 25% vitamin C. the latter, higher potency material has been spiked with added ascorbic acid. Green Vibrance employs the lower potency but truly all natural acerola berry juice powder.

Ginger and Cayenne: Ginger and Cayenne have been added to "warm up" the formula just a bit without changing the flavor of the finished product. These ingredients enhance digestive activity and circulation, further improving delivery of nutrients across the intestinal mucosa.

Organic cereal grass juice powders: Some background is needed here. In the industry at large, this classification of material does not really exist. Nearly all "juice powders" are either just finely milled, dry cereal grasses or juice that has been spray dried onto either a malto-dextrin/starch carrier (not so good) or a grass powder carrier. This latter version &endash; dried on grass powder &endash; results in a material that is quite good, yet 14% to 15% of the material is still cellulose. The weight and density contributed by the cellulose is necessary, since true cereal grass juice powder, produced in a freeze-dryer, is so light and fluffy and voluminous that a product made entirely from it would call for huge packaging and equally huge doses.

So, in this case we have been forced to yield to these limitations (for now!). Our cereal grass juice powders are composed 85% of material with a 14% cellulose content and 15% of pure, lyophilized (freeze-dried) cereal grass powder. Both components are certified organic.

We use 5 cereal grasses. They are: alfalfa, barley, oat, wheat and kamut cereal grass juice powders.

Cereal grasses are known for their general, broad-range nutrition, and peptide growth factors. Both animals and humans fed cereal grasses grow faster, larger and stronger, with a more robust immune system. They originally came to fame in our industry when Ann Wigmore claimed to cure cancer patients by placing them on a fresh food diet heavy with wheat grass juice. Certainly, the high chlorophyll content of the grasses helps heal and purify the intestinal tract while other components serve a prebiotics, and the legion of proteins and peptides now identified in cereal grasses trigger and stimulate the immune system. The identity of the growth factor or factors remains elusive, however, even after more than 60 years of searching. It may never actually be found, for the healthy growth of young animals could very likely be the result of each cell simply receiving adequate nutrition, allowing it to run at peak efficiency. The end result would be maximized growth.

The differences in nutrient content among cereal grasses is considered insignificant before the plants grow to the stage of jointing, the point of peak nutrient content and the moment of harvest. After jointing, nutrient levels drop and begin to differentiate themselves among the various plants. Still, in order to take advantage of the minute fluctuations among the plants, we chose to use five different cereal grasses.

Hydrilla verticillata, organic: Hydrilla verticillata is a new green food -- a fresh water plant of supreme nutrient density and bland taste. Hydrilla brings additional, stunningly concentrated nutrition to Green Vibrance. In one month's use of Green Vibrance (30 doses), a consumer will benefit from10.5 grams of Hydrilla verticillata and 10.5 grams of Chlorella, a well-known and respected green superfood. Here is how they compare.

Hydrilla is especially valuable to true vegetarians. Vitamin B-12, Iron and Calcium are commonly supplied by animal foods (e.g. milk, cheese, meats) in an omnivorous diet. Among other functions, the three nutrients are responsible for maintaining mental health (cognition, attention span, neuronal life), for delivery of oxygen to cells, and for the maintenance of strong bones and resilient connective tissue. Adequate amounts of B-12, iron and calcium are difficult to obtain in vegan diets. Green Vibrance, with its complement of Hydrilla verticillata, delivers significant potencies of these "animal factor" nutrients from a true vegetable source. Green Vibrance is a strong guardian of optimal health for vegans and omnivores alike.

Hydrilla also boosts the beta-carotene content of Green Vibrance, delivering even more anti-oxidant, anti-aging, anti-pollution protection than before. The naturally high content of B-vitamins will fuel and protect neurological tissue and support overall metabolism.

Japanese cracked cell chlorella: Chlorella makes many of the same claims as spirulina, for it is a high protein (58%) food with all B-vitamins, C, E, and important trace minerals. The problem lies in its tough cell wall that must be shattered in order that our digestive enzymes may gain access to its nutritional bounty. The chlorella used in Green Vibrance has been physically milled to break down the cell walls without the use of solvents or enzymes.

Alfalfa sprout powder: Alfalfa has been a staple in the health food industry for many years. Green Vibrance takes advantage of this land-based nutritional powerhouse. With it's B-vitamin and vitamin C content and full complement of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, and its deep roots that bring many minerals into the plant, alfalfa is known to support joint health, digestive function, cardiovascular health, tissue integrity, healing and to lower cholesterol, reduce inflammation, and balance hormones (among other things). Sprouts concentrate the nutritional strength of alfalfa in a smaller package.

Broccoli sprout powder: Broccoli sprouts have been chosen for similar reasons to alfalfa. Although they lack the same nutrient diversity of alfalfa, they complement alfalfa sprouts by bringing sulforaphane, the famous chemopreventive substance, and other immune enhancing properties into Green Vibrance.

Organic beet juice powder: There are beet juice powders and then there is the beet juice powder used in Green Vibrance. Others are spray dried on malto-dextrins, meaning the finished material is something like 50% beet and 50% starch. Green Vibrance uses a pure, organic lyophilized (freeze-dried) beet juice powder. We don't like empty-calorie starch; we do like full nutrition from the beet with its ability to support hemoglobin production, red cell building and detoxification of the blood. If we put such an abundance of nutrients in Green Vibrance, we want to support a healthy army of red blood cells that will be able to carry oxygen and a good number of those nutrients out to every cell of the body.

Flax seed with Chia: The volatility unsaturated lipids in flax seeds has always required special handling in order safeguard those oils from rancidity.

Whole flax seed is simultaneously ground together with chia seeds. Chia is rich in natural antioxidants and stabilizing factors that block flax oil from oxidizing. Blending additionally calls for the flax meal to be mixed first with all the antioxidant herbal extract powders in Green Vibrance, thereby immersing each 200 mg of flax meal within 534 mg of the most potent and protective natural antioxidants yet discovered. Immediately thereafter, all other ingredients are added to the mixture in a precise order, with the result being that the flax is now further protected by additional (but less concentrated) antioxidants to be found in our four cereal grass powders, spinach octacosanol, and additional botanical components.

The finished mixture is packaged in airtight, sealed containers. Inside the containers, along with the Green Vibrance powder, are two protective desiccant packets. One absorbs moisture. The other absorbs any remaining oxygen that may be present inside the jar. Both packets are there to protect the freshness of the contents. Both packets are designed to protect the contents of a 40 oz jar. The 30-day supply Green Vibrance jar is 20 oz. We purposefully use oxygen and moisture desiccant packets that are twice as powerful as required to clear an EMPTY jar. When we consider that the jars are filled with powder, we estimate that our packets exceed requirements by 10 fold in the 30 day supply and 5 fold in the 60-serving, Family size Green Vibrance.

Spinach Octacosanol: Octacosanol may support endurance, brain and nerve activity and possibly fertility. Spinach is a hypoallergenic source which brings touches of iron, carotenes, vitamin E, chlorophyll and other nutrients.

Vitamin E (Covitol 700 WD - water dispersible d-alpha tocopheryl succinate) It's true: Vitamin E is lost in even the most gentle forms of processing. Even with our careful, modern techniques, vitamin E is greatly reduced when plants are extracted. So we add it back - from soybean sources &endash; in a special, water dispersible form.
