PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Pet Antioxidant Formula contains buffered Vitamin C in the form of powdered calcium, magnesium, and zinc ascorbates; high potency grape seed, skin, and stem extract; green tea extract; reduced glutathione; N-acetyl-L- cysteine (NAC); k-Rutin™; lipoic acid; coenzyme forms of Vitamin B-2 and Vitamin B-6; and selenium. Desiccated fish (tuna source) and liver (bovine source) is included to increase nutritional value and palatability. Pet Antioxidant Formula is hypoallergenic; the ingredients are contained in a preservative-free gelatin capsule with no dicalcium phosphate or magnesium stearate.

NUTRITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS AND APPLICATIONS: Pet Antioxidant Formula is a synergistic antioxidant formula that is designed to boost the ability of the body to quench free radicals in its aqueous (i.e., water-based) compartments. Because antioxidants may become free radicals after they have been used, the body has an elaborate system for recovery of oxidized antioxidants. For example, reduced glutathione can reduce oxidized Vitamin C back to its unoxidized state. In addition, glutathione and NAC (a major precursor of glutathione) provide important protection against toxins and free radicals and are able to strengthen the immune system. Vitamin C has the ability to reduce oxidized Vitamin E back to its unoxidized state and also can reduce glutathione and spare it for other important functions, including detoxification and immune system enhancement. Many of the polyphenols found in red grape and green tea extracts (e.g., oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC), anthocyanidins, and catechins) spare Vitamin C and glutathione in the body. Grape extract and green tea extract contain highly bioavailable bioflavonoid complexes that in research studies have shown powerful antioxidant capability. The oligomeric proanthocyanidins of grape extract are able to strengthen collagen fibers in aging or damaged connective tissue and can act as a preventive against connective tissue damage/degradation. Rutin is one of the major nutrients used for the control of inflammation. Whereas the usual forms of rutin are not absorbed readily in the intestinal tract, the k-Rutin™ used in this product is highly water-soluble and is assimilated extremely well by the body. Lipoic acid is a potent fat-soluble and water-soluble antioxidant with important metabolic and detoxification properties, and operates as an antioxidant in both its oxidized and reduced states. It is able to reduce oxidized Vitamin E and oxidized Vitamin C, and has been shown to enhance glutathione levels. Selenium has been shown by clinical research to be a key mineral in the body's defenses against free radicals. Vitamin B-2, Vitamin B-6, magnesium, zinc, and calcium synergistically work with the other ingredients in this product and enhance their effects. Desiccated liver is a food that attracts most animals and it ensures that pets will take the product. The nutrients in Pet Antioxidant Formula have been carefully selected and balanced to provide optimal effects, especially protection against free radicals, detoxification, immune system enhancement, strengthening of connective tissue, and reduction of inflammation. Pet Antioxidant Formula provides outstanding nutritional support for a wide variety of conditions of poor health, as well supports and maintains a state of health and well-being. It will be most effective when used in conjunction with other basic nutritional supplements that support metabolism such as 2DOCS Pet Mighty-Multi and Essential Fats for Pets.

COMPOSITION: 1 capsule of PET ANTIOXIDANT FORMULA™ provides the following nutrients:

INGREDIENTS: Desiccated tuna and liver (bovine source), magnesium ascorbate, calcium ascorbate, BioVin™ grape extract (>90% OPC, 6% anthocyanidins, and >200 ppm trans-resveratrol from grape seeds, skins, and stems), green tea extract (90% minimum polyphenols, 57% minimum catechins), glutathione (reduced), N-acetyl L-cysteine, k-Rutin™, zinc ascorbate, alpha lipoic acid, riboflavin 5'phosphate, pyridoxal 5'phosphate, l-selenomethionine, the smallest amount of silica and magnesium trisilicate, and a preservative-free gelatin capsule.

PET ANTIOXIDANT FORMULA does not contain wheat, rye, oats, barley, corn, gluten, egg, soy, dairy, yeast, sugar, wax, sulfates, phosphates (other than coenzymes), chlorides, fats, preservatives, colorings, or artificial flavorings. 

DIRECTIONS: As a dietary supplement for pets, give 1 capsule daily per 20 pounds of body weight preferably with food, or as directed by an animal health care professional. Capsule contents may be sprinkled onto food.
