Ubiquinol-50 is a superior CoQ10 product providing all the health benefits of coenzyme Q10, yet offers improved assimilation characteristics compared to standard CoQ10 (ubiquinone) supplements. Ubiquinol is the fully reduced form of CoQ10, whereas ubiquinone is the oxidized form.
Ubiquinol-50 consists of 50 mg of the stabilized reduced form of Coenzyme Q10 (Kaneka Ubquinol QH) in a preservative-free softgel capsule. For enhanced absorbability and stability (i.e., to prevent crystallization and oxidation) the product also contains D-Limonene oil (emulsifier), Caprylic acid, Capric acid, and Alpha-Lipoic Acid.
Research shows that 90% of the body's CoQ10 is in the reduced form of ubiquinol. However, many factors including advancing age, conditions of poor health, improper nutrition, and poor digestion reduce the body's ability to produce CoQ10 (ubiquinone) and to convert ubiquinone to ubiquinol.
In the human body, the primary function of CoQ10 is to allow the mitochondria to convert food metabolites from the digestive process into cellular energy. This coenzyme is normally produced by the body and it is found in all of the body’s cells. However, it is most abundant in heart, liver, and immune system cells.
Reduced form CoQ10 (ubiquinol) has been shown to be an important fat-soluble antioxidant with the ability to protect and regenerate Vitamin E in cell membranes. In addition, CoQ10 has been shown to stimulate the body’s immune defenses.
Studies show that when levels of CoQ10 are allowed to decline, the body’s vital organs and systems may not meet their energy requirements. When this occurs, the inevitable results are major ill health and disease states.
