Dosing

Proper dosing of Carbon 60 has not been scientifically evaluated, however, enough feedback from those who have taken it over the last several years suggests the following dosing guidelines.

For people wishing to experiment with the long-term benefits of Carbon 60, we suggest taking one teaspoon per day (~5 ml), every day, any time of day, with or without food. There are about 20 teaspoons in our 100 ml bottle.

Some performance athletes prefer taking an entire 100 ml bottle all at once, one bottle per month. This method can provide a noticeable boost in performance..

For topical application, we suggest rubbing a few drops per day into the area that you are focusing on. 

Storage

To protect the product from degradation, it is recommend that you store the oil in a place where it is protected from both heat and light, such as a cupboard away from the stove or any other heat generating appliances. 

There is no need to refrigerate. While refrigeration is harmless, placing the oil in a refrigerator will cause it to congeal in an unappealing way. If this happens, simply bring the oil back to room temperature and it will return to its normal consistency. If you are ordering a large number of bottles to last more than several months, then refrigeration might be a good idea.

When stored properly, an unopened bottle of Carbon 60 olive oil has a shelf life of up to two years. Once opened, we suggest using within 30-60 days for maximum quality.

  • Will Carbon 60 help with or cure my disease/ailment? What are the health benefits?
    While the original University of Paris study yielded very exciting results regarding overall health and longevity, Carbon 60 is still in the early research phase—particularly regarding its effect on human health. Anecdotal evidence so far is very promising when it comes to many different aspects of health and vitality, but the long-term evidence will take quite some time to gather and analyze, eventually leading to larger scale controlled studies. We appreciate your feedback during this phase of scientific discovery, as every bit of data collected will help guide the research where it’s most useful.
  • How much should I take?
    Based on customer feedback, we suggest one teaspoon per day, with or without food. 
  • How fresh is your oil?
    Based on the regular pace of shipping and production, the average bottle of oil is shipped to us within three days of completing the two week mixing process. We order in relatively small amounts in order to avoid long time periods in inventory.
  • How long will it keep?

  • What is the process for creating Carbon 60 Fullerene / Olive Oil Solution? 
    Our manufacturer uses the exact process of the original University of Paris study (also known as the Baati process). They use 5 grams of research grade Carbon 60 per liter of organic extra virgin olive oil, which begins at 99.9+% purity and is then vacuum oven dried to be completely solvent-free, mix in complete darkness for two weeks, then centrifuge and sterile filter through a 0.22 micron filter before bottling. The entire process is controlled for temperature and light exposure to preserve the freshness and integrity of the product. 
  • What’s the difference between research grade and industrial Carbon 60?
    Our manufacturer uses a solvent-free grade of Carbon 60, otherwise known as research grade. Solvents (primarily Toluene) are used in the manufacturing process of all Carbon 60, however, in research grade Carbon 60 they are completely removed to undetectable levels through further processing (vacuum oven drying, specifically). Industrial grade Carbon 60, which many companies use because it is much cheaper, still contains Toluene or other solvents and is unfit for human consumption.
  • Why is this other company’s oil black?
    Black oil can result from: inferior Carbon 60 containing dangerous impurities, or an inferior process. Some companies are boiling their oil to try to dissolve the Carbon 60 faster, or to attempt saturation using less than the 5 grams per liter it takes to achieve .8 grams per liter of full saturation. This destroys the polyphenols in the olive oil, and results in a damaged, black oil that is unfit for human consumption.
  • Why olive oil rather than coconut or other oils?
    Olive oil is used because it was the oil used in the original University of Paris study, and as such is the only oil so far to be scientifically evaluated as a carrier for studying the effects of Carbon 60. Additionally, organic extra virgin olive oil contains very high levels of antioxidants—far higher than coconut oil—and brings its own proven health benefits to the solution. While it stands to reason that other oils may serve as good carriers for Carbon 60 and produce similar results, we will not offer it to our customers without evidence of its efficacy.
  • What does raw Carbon 60 taste like?
    Raw Carbon 60 initially has a flavor similar to charcoal, followed by a mild peppery taste that lingers for some time. Because the oil in our product is fully saturated, and coupled with the already peppery taste of  high-quality organic extra virgin olive oil, it can be a little intense on more sensitive palates. For this reason, some people choose to take the oil by dipping a bit of bread or drizzling on a salad.

The Manufacturing Process

Our manufacturer strictly follows the original Baati / Paris method of Carbon 60 olive oil preparation, a process they have adhered to since the company was founded in 2012.

They start with top quality ingredients: research grade Carbon 60 from SES Research, which begins at 99.95+ % purity and is then vacuum oven dried to be completely solvent-free, and Kirkland brand organic extra virgin olive oil. After extensive study in olive oil quality, it was found that small batch extra virgin olive oil is notoriously inconsistent, and that Kirkland brand is the best olive oil available with the most consistent quality.

To achieve maximum saturation (0.8 grams per liter / 0.8 mg per ml), they combine 5 grams of Carbon 60 per liter of organic extra virgin olive oil, as described in the Baati process. This is more than 6 times the amount of Carbon 60 than can possibly saturate the solution, however, this is the necessary ratio because not all of the Carbon 60 being mixed with olive oil will dissolve in a two week mixing time. 

Many of our competitors cut corners by using an industrial grade Carbon 60 (a lower level of purity that also contains dangerous solvents), and/or simply putting in 0.8 or 0.9 grams of Carbon 60 per liter of olive oil, which always results in an inferior product. Some companies are even boiling their olive oil to try to dissolve the carbon faster or get away with using less. This destroys the polyphenols in the olive oil, and results in a damaged, black oil.

5 grams of Carbon 60 per liter of olive oil is mixed for two weeks using specialized equipment that ensures full suspension of Carbon 60 particles during the entire mixing operation. The mixing occurs in complete darkness, in temperature controlled conditions, to avoid degradation from light or heat.

Upon completion of this two week mixing period, the fully saturated Carbon 60 solution is centrifuged at 5,000 g for one hour to remove the undissolved Carbon 60. This clarified solution is then sterile filtered through a 0.22 micron filter.

The solution is then bottled in dark amber glass bottles, and quickly packaged for shipment to distributors. The packaging is designed to be extremely robust to prevent breakage, and conforms to international standards for shipping liquids in glass containers. Each shrink-sealed bottle is enclosed in a 6 mil heavy zip-lock bag, and packed along with an applicator in an individual cardboard box, independent of the final packaging used for mailing. 

Our manufacturer is the only company proven to consistently provide a fully saturated, 0.8 mg per ml Carbon 60 olive oil solution. Don’t settle for the slightly less expensive, vastly inferior products available from our competitors. Insist on fully saturated Carbon 60 olive oil solution from a manufacturer that has been doing it right from the beginning!
